Building a Salford future for young people
They are the first recruits to ‘graduate’ from Build Salford – a 16 week traineeship which aims to help local people reap the benefits of the city’s current building boom.
Build Salford brings together some of the biggest and best construction and social housing organisations in Salford and is managed by Salford City College and supported by Salford City Council.
The project provided the Salford candidates with a wide range of industry experiences, including substantial work experience, guest lectures, site visits and crucial industry focused training.
The partnership included Keepmoat Homes, Keepmoat regeneration, Seddons Caseys, Galliford Try, Together Housing, Great Places, Clarion and the organisations subcontractors.
Ciaran Laffan, pictured below with Connolly’s Scaffolding Manager Darren O’Rourke, was one of the successful candidates that attended the Build Salford traineeship and secured a scaffolding apprenticeship with Keepmoat Homes subcontractor, Connolly’s Scaffolding.
